Has Stan Lee let the black cat out of the bag (pun intended) and just confirmed that a Black Panther flick was already underway? And what about Black Widow?
Stan “The Man” Lee was at the “Marvel Presents: The Legendary Stan Lee” panel at Fan Expo Canada on Friday, and while there, the man of many a Marvel cameo more or less confirmed that the much-talked-about Black Panther flick is definitely happening. Hooray!
After months and months of speculation, Lee put rumors to rest and revealed (via a panel report over at Comic Book Ressources) that Marvel Studios was “already working” on the film.
The legendary Marvel comic-book writer also addressed the potential for a stand-alone Black Widow movie starring Scarlett Johansson in the role.
“The chances are she will have her own movie because eventually all the superheroes are going to have their own movies,” he said. “They are already working on Ant-Man, Doctor Strange and the Black Panther, and there are others I am not allowed to talk about.”
Lee also said that Scarlett Johansson’s ass-kicking Natasha Romanoff would be featured “more prominently” going forward, understandably so, given her amazing (and well-received) turn in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
What do you guys think? Are you excited to know that Marvel's "already working" on that eagerly anticipated Black Panther flick? Who do you think should play T'Challa? What about Lee's comments about Black Widow?
