The granddaddy of all comic-book celebrities, Stan "The Man" Lee, is about to take his last waltz through New York Comic-Con when the giant pop culture jamboree kicks off in October. NYCC organizer and promoter ReedPop made the announcement on Friday, a change most likely due to the energetic nanogenarian's advancing age, travel time from California and exhausting circuit schedule.
While most of us complain about slight additions to our busy lives, Lee has remained an indefatigable force of good will, inspiration and knowledge for the industry well into his 90s, making whistle stops around the world promoting the Marvel Cinematic Universe and regaling captivated fans of the formative years at Marvel Comics, helping to create the Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men, Spider-Man, The Hulk, Iron Man and legions more superheroes and villains. If your calendar allows and you're in the region this autumn, you might want to go meet the legendary Lee when New York Comic Con 2016 invades the Javits Center in Manhattan on Oct. 6-9, 2016. Stan Lee's Comikaze, an event Lee still plans on attending, will take place Oct. 28-30 in Los Angeles.
Will you make the effort to go shake hands with Stan Lee at NYCC?
