Though most of his well-known creations are currently getting ready to take on Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, comic legend Stan Lee is still cranking out new superheroes — and his latest is also coming to the big screen.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Chinese actress Li Bingbing has been tapped to star in Realm, a new superhero film in development by Stan Lee Global Entertainment and Chinese production and distribution company Fundamental Films. Little is known about the actual plot, aside from the fact that Lee teases it will be the first Chinese female superhero. Obviously, don’t expect any crossover with Marvel, but we’ll take an international female superhero any way we can get it.

"Stan Lee’s imagination has brought the world some of its most iconic pop-culture stories and characters. It gives us incredible pleasure and excitement to present his latest creation," said Mark Gao, Chairman of Fundamental Films.

If you’re unfamiliar with Bingbing on first blush, you’ve probably seen her in sci-fi hits Transformers: Age of Extinction and Resident Evil: Retribution. It’ll be interesting to see what she can do with this role (whatever it is, exactly), and here’s hoping Lee gives her something interesting to work with.

Though he’s created some of the most popular comic characters in existence, Lee’s output as of late has been somewhat hit and miss in regard to popularity. Do you think Realm will finally put him back on top?
