Watch Stan Lee STUNNED by the original art to Fantastic Four #12

It takes a lot to make Stan Lee speechless, but Joe Maddalena, the owner of the Profiles in History auction house and star of Syfy's new series Hollywood Treasure, found a way to do it—by showing the co-creator of Spider-Man, the Hulk, the Fantastic Four and other Marvel superheroes some original art he hadn't seen in more than four decades.

Maddalena had gotten his hands on the original artwork to Fantastic Four #12 from 1963, which featured the first meeting of the Hulk and the Fantastic Four and is apparently the first crossover in the Marvel Universe ever.

The thing that astonished Lee the most? His own notes scribbled along the margins of the artwork, which he considers just as rare as the artwork itself, since they were usually erased.

Watch the extended interview from Hollywood Treasure below, including footage that won't be seen on TV, as Lee is awed to be reunited with Jack Kirby's artwork after so many years.

Hollywood Treasure airs Wednesdays on Syfy at 10/9C.
