Back in Kevin Smith's 1995 flick Mallrats, Stan Lee was approached by Jason Lee's character and asked, "Is his dork made out of orange rock like the rest of his body?" Lee wouldn't answer, calling it a superhero secret. But now he's letting that secret hang out.

Vanity Fair sat down with Lee and asked him (among other things) what the interviewer called "a question that has crossed every serious comic fan's mind at least once in his life," the question Lee's character Brodie asked Lee in the film.

Lee responded:

I never gave it a thought. I guess common sense would say it was made of orange rock too, but I always thought it was more interesting to think about Reed Richards. As you know, he had the ability to stretch, and sexually, that would seem to be a great asset in many areas.

We're certainly glad THAT eternal question has finally been answered!

The 88-year-old dynamo, who shows no sign of slowing down, was also asked: "Are you going to be one of those guys who doesn't quit until they find you dead in your office, face down in a pool of ink, surrounded by storyboards?"

To which Lee replied, "I don't intend to die."

We're going to hold you to that, Stan.
