Star Trek: The Next Generation to boldly crossover with Aliens in new comic series

In space, no one can hear you scream. The crew of the Enterprise is about to find that out the hard way when they come across the greatest threat the Alpha Quadrant has yet to face, the Xenomorphs.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dark Horse Comics and IDW Publishing will boldly go where no one has gone before and bring us an epic Star Trek: The Next Generation and Aliens crossover comic series. I don’t know about you, but as a huge fan of both franchises, this is some pretty sweet news.

Titled Star Trek: The Next Generation/Aliens: Acceptable Losses, the new miniseries (no word on how many issues it will be) set to arrive in comic book stores in 2017 will be penned by Scott and David Tipton, while J.K. Woodward will provide the art. If all three names ring a bell, it’s because these are the guys who already brought us Star Trek: The Next Generation/Doctor Who: Assimiliaton2 in 2012.

After tackling a meeting between the crew of the Enterprise-D and the Eleventh Doctor, I’m sure the dynamic trio will be more than up to the challenge of introducing the Xenomorphs to Gene Roddenberry’s Star Trek universe. After all, we needed new ways in which Red Shirts could die some horrible deaths.

Star Trek: The Next Generation/Aliens will arrive in April 2017. Will you be picking this one up?
