Not too long ago, the online Trek game managed to snag Michael Dorn to play Worf, and now they've done it again with another classic character.
Sometimes it's easy to forget that the Trek universe most of us grew up loving is still chugging along despite the existence of the current movies that take place in an entirely different universe. And a big part of that is thanks to the folks at Star Trek Online, who are dedicated to giving fans a way to interact with the world they've loved for so long.
And now they're bringing that feeling of being part of the universe to another level by adding another previous Trek actor to their roster. They had Zachary Quinto play an Emergency Hologram, they had Michael Dorn voice Worf, and now they've got a very famous Vulcan joining the ranks.
You can watch the video to hear Tim Russ talk about the challenge of voice-acting a Vulcan character as well as just how much of Tuvok is a part of him, but here's the info that pertains to STO proper.
- Tim Russ will appear in the upcoming episode A Step Between Stars
- He will play Tuvok, who, at this point, is an admiral
- Tuvok is now in charge of Voyager
It's nice to see Russ still so involved in the world of Trek. Last we talked about him, he was hard at work on a new, unofficial, ongoing Trek series called Renegades, along with Walter "Chekov" Koenig himself. Hopefully this step into STO will only be the beginning for Russ. And maybe it'll mean other actors from Voyager will get on board, too.
