If there was any question that the upcoming videogame Star Wars 1313 was going to be a different take on George Lucas' beloved world, some newly leaked concept art puts the debate to rest. This is not your father's Star Wars.

The pics have a definite, and likely intentional, Blade Runner vibe—which goes right along with all those "dark" and "gritty" buzzwords we've heard tossed around in recent months, and glimpsed in gameplay clips.

So, how does it look? Good. Really good. Though it's rarely been explored, the Star Wars canon is ripe for a darker interpretation, and 1313 definitely looks like the project that will take us there.

Here's the official synopsis, if you need a refresher on the project:

Named for Level 1313, a ruthless criminal underground deep below the surface of the planet of Coruscant, the game puts players in control of a deadly bounty hunter as he uses an arsenal of exotic weaponry to hunt down his marks and uncover the truth surrounding a criminal conspiracy. Star Wars 1313 emphasizes epic set pieces and fast-paced combat with a hero who uses human skills and gadgets, rather than supernatural Force powers, to make his way through this dangerous world.
In addition to the new concept art compiled in a gallery below, the developers have also released a new development documentary, which offers a few more insights into the world the LucasArts team is building:
