Later this week, the Ewoks are coming to Star Wars Battlefront II. EA’s new “Night on Endor” update will include Ewok Hunt, a new mode that will put players in control of the tiny furry warriors or the unfortunate stormtroopers who encountered them on the forest moon.

Ewok Hunt is set before the events of Return of the Jedi, when the Ewoks made their displeasure known to the Empire by ambushing their troops and wiping them out. EA has released a teaser trailer for Ewok Hunt, which finds a contingent of stormtroopers who appear to be a little bit too close to the Ewok village. By the time this hunt is over, those troopers may be on the menu for dinner.

At the start of Ewok Hunt, players pick their sides. From there, the player controlled Ewoks ambush the Imperial forces using every primitive weapon at their disposal. The stormtroopers come equipped with superior firepower and flashlights to see in the darkness, but they are at a severe numbers disadvantage. When a stormtrooper falls in this battle, they respawn as an Ewok. If the Ewoks eliminate all of the stormtroopers then they win the match. For the Imperial side, they have to hold off the Ewoks long enough for an extraction team to arrive.

“Night on Endor” will be a free update for all players of Star Wars Battlefront II, but the Ewok Hunt mode will only be available for a limited time. “Night on Endor” will be released on Wednesday, April 18, and it will include the option to purchase Endor costumes for Princess Leia and Han Solo.
