As you may have heard via the Internet or a friend or that Alec Guinness Force ghost that appears at the foot of your bed every Tuesday night (No? So that's just me?), 2017 marks the 40th anniversary of Star Wars, and while we get to close the year out with The Last Jedi, that's far from the only event worth celebrating.

Before The Last Jedi hits theaters, before the Force Friday toy launch in September, and even before all the anniversary shenanigans in May (stay tuned to Syfy Wire to see what we roll out for that), we get this year's Star Wars Celebration in Orlando. The event kicks off April 13 with a 40th anniversary panel led by Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy and features four days of panels, signings, costumes and all the fun you could ask for from a galaxy far, far away. Plus, if we're lucky, some Last Jedi footage.

At the moment, we actually know very little about what this year's celebration will bring, but it will no doubt embrace the legacy of the franchise after four decades. To prove it, Lucasfilm just dropped this gorgeous new poster, uniting 40 years of heroes, villains and even vehicles. Check it out.

We'll keep you updated on any new Celebration developments as they come in.
