A new trailer for Star Wars: Forces of Destiny was released online today, previewing the new series of animated shorts centered on the female characters of the galaxy far, far away. The trailer shows scenes from episodes featuring Rey, Jyn Erso, Princess Leia, Sabine from Star Wars Rebels, Padme Amidala and Ahsoka Tano (in The Clone Wars era) and is narrated by Maz Kanata. So, basically, it's awesome.

Written by Jennifer Muro, Forces of Destiny features the voices of Daisy Ridley, Felicity Jones, Tiya Sircar, Ashley Eckstein, Lupita Nyong'o and more as they return to the characters they helped bring to life. The series will debut on July 3 on the Disney YouTube channel and then air on the Disney Channel on July 9. The eight shorts each run about 2-3 minutes and will go up on the YouTube channel each day at 10 a.m. PDT before airing together as a half-hour special that Sunday, July 9. In August the first books, apparel, action figures and dolls related to Forces of Destiny will hit stores.

Check out the new trailer (with some great Easter eggs) below, and tune in next week!
