Star Wars without John Williams' score is the most awkward thing you'll see today

If you’ve ever doubted the difference a good soundtrack or score can make in a movie, just take a look at what Star Wars’ iconic throne room scene would've been like without John Williams’ iconic score.

Some ingenious fans have redubbed the scene, which typically plays out to Williams’ awesome orchestral theme, and instead made it completely silent (there’s no dialogue, anyway) — minus a few coughs, plus the funniest Wookiee scream you’ll ever hear in your life. Seriously.

It’s amazing to see one of the most triumphant and exciting scenes in genre history turned into a painfully uncomfortable 2+ minutes of silence that seems to go on forever. Check out the awkwardly silent cut via The Auralnauts above, and compare it to the original scene below just to feel the difference Williams’ score can have on the scene.

Just. Wow.
