The Screen Actors Guild gave out its awards on Saturday, and familiar non-sci-fi films took home the big acting prizes, while Star Trek beat out Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, among other films, for stunt ensemble in a motion picture. 24 nabbed stunt ensemble in a television series.
Non-sci-fi awards went to Inglourious Basterds for best ensemble cast in a motion picture, Jeff Bridges for Crazy Heart, Sandra Bullock for The Blind Side, Michael C. Hall for Dexter and Julianna Margulies for The Good Wife.
In other award news, sci-fi ruled the Golden Reel nominations, which are given out by the Motion Picture Sound Editors Guild for excellence in music, dialogue, ADR, sound effects and foley categories. Avatar and Star Trek scooped up three nominations each, 2012 snatched two, and Watchmen received one. The animated features 9, Coraline and Up also copped one nomination each.
For television Syfy's Battlestar Galactica and Fox's Fringe grabbed three nominations, along with CBS's CSI. Syfy's Warehouse 13 took two noms, while HBO's True Blood, ABC's Lost and Monsters vs. Aliens: Mutant Pumpkins From Outer Space got one.
The Golden Reel awards will be handed out on Jan. 22.
