Stars and a little something extra officially back for Avatar sequels

The stars of Avatar are officially headed back to Pandora ... and they won't be alone.

Although it was pretty much a foregone conclusion, Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana have signed contracts to return as Jake Sully and Neytiri in Avatar 2, 3 and 4

But it won't be just Jake and Neytiri we'll be following around the flora and fauna of Pandora (and maybe some other nearby worlds), as The Hollywood Reporter claims that the blue couple will apparently have kids, too.

That's about as much as we know about the plot of the sequels right now, except for the fact that the villainous Colonel Quaritch (Stephen Lang) will also be back, despite having met his end in the first film.

Director James Cameron said about his stars, "Jake Sully is a rare combination of passion, strength, street smarts and soul, which requires a lot from an actor. Sam brought to the role a combination of sensitivity, vulnerability and strength. Zoe captured every aspect of the character I envisioned, bringing to Neytiri a mix of delicacy, fierceness and incredible physicality. I am beyond pleased they'll be returning with us to Pandora."

Cameron plans to shoot the three sequels back to back to back, beginning sometime this fall in New Zealand, with the films scheduled to come out in December 2016, 2017 and 2018.

Are you pleased that Worthington and Saldana will be back? And is adding little blue rugrats into the mix a good thing?
