In order to promote Tim Burton’s upcoming movie Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, 20th Century Fox has released a new promo video titled “A Peculiar Tale,” featuring “peculiar” VidCon creators Andrea Russett, Andi Case, Jody Steel, Ella Purnell, and Megan Batoon.
If you’re asking yourselves: But why? Seems like at VidCon yesterday, best-selling authors John Green and Ransom Riggs (he's the dude who wrote the original novel on which the Burton movie is based) had a “peculiar” conversation about what it means to #StayPeculiar. They also gave fans an exclusive inside look at the upcoming film.
Although there are no scenes from the movie in the video featurette below, the promo asks us to embrace our differences and peculiarities that make us all unique, and I think it's pretty neat. Have a look:
From visionary director Tim Burton, and based upon the best-selling novel, comes an unforgettable motion picture experience. When Jake discovers clues to a mystery that spans alternate realities and times, he uncovers a secret refuge known as Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As he learns about the residents and their unusual abilities, Jake realizes that safety is an illusion, and danger lurks in the form of powerful, hidden enemies. Jake must figure out who is real, who can be trusted, and who he really is.
Directed by Tim Burton from a screenplay by Jane Goldman, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children stars Eva Green, Asa Butterfield, Chris O'Dowd, Allison Janney, Rupert Everett, Terence Stamp, Ella Purnell, Judi Dench and Samuel L. Jackson. The movie is set to open in movie theaters with all its peculiarities on Sept. 30.
