There's a terrifying new trailer for The Void lurking about, so get ready to be hit with some full-on John Carpenter-esque vibes.
What's cool about The Void is that the film will feature lots of practical VFX and heavily borrows elements from John Carpenter’s The Thing as well as other horror offerings of the time such as The Fly, Hellraiser, Prince of Darkness (another Carpenter movie) and the like.
In the new trailer, we have mysterious cult-like figures surrounding a hospital while inside hell is being unleashed in the basement. Meaning there's literally nowhere to run! Lucky for us, of course, but not so much for the characters. Also, there's some pretty disgusting stuff going on and I've got one word for it: Awesome.
The nightmarish horror film from writer-directors Jeremy Gillespie and Steven Kostanski (Father's Day) stars Aaron Poole, Kathleen Munroe, Ellen Wong, Kenneth Walsh, Evan Stern, Daniel Fathers and Grace Munro.
When police officer Carter (Aaron Poole) discovers a blood-soaked man limping down a deserted road, he rushes him to a local hospital with a bare-bones night shift staff. As cloaked, cult-like figures surround the building, the patients and staff start to turn ravenously insane. Trying to protect the survivors, Carter leads them into the depths of the hospital, where they discover a gateway to immense evil.
The gates of hell will open when The Void is released in movie theaters and VOD on April 7.
