Ahead of the movie’s release in less than two months, new pics and concept art from the big screen adaptation of Stephen King’s It have come out of the sewers.
Released by Entertainment Weekly, the images focus on the Losers Club, the group of misfit kids from the town of Derry, Maine, who come face to face with the terrifying creature that takes on the form of Pennywise the Clown (Bill Skarsgard) to lure in innocent victims.
The concept art shows the kids as they descend into the sewers to hunt “It” down in their search for Georgie Denbrough, whose body, in director Andrés Muschietti’s (Mama) version, hasn’t been found (yeah, I know, it’s a bit of a departure from Stephen King’s classic horror novel).
New Line Cinema’s horror thriller IT, directed by Andrés Muschietti (Mama), is based on the hugely popular Stephen King novel of the same name, which has been terrifying readers for decades.
When children begin to disappear in the town of Derry, Maine, a group of young kids are faced with their biggest fears when they square off against an evil clown named Pennywise, whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries.
Starring Bill Skarsgard, Jaeden Lieberher, Wyatt Oleff, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, Jack Dylan Grazer, Chosen Jacobs and Nicholas Hamilton, the R-rated movie floats into movie theaters on Sept. 8.
