Straczynski shoots down B5 rumors

Well, it was fun while it lasted—yesterday's declaration by Walter Koenig that J. MIchael Straczynski was in negotiations to acquire the rights to Babylon 5 set off a wave of excitement through the fansphere (and one of the most active comment threads we've had in recent memory). Now, however, the man himself is setting the record straight, and it's not good news for those wanting to see the beloved sci-fi franchise return.

In response to fan inquiries via Twitter, Straczynski had this to say:


Well, it was fun to speculate, and given the high degree of recycling being done in movies and TV these days, we'd never say never. But, for now, it appears Babylon 5 will continue to rest in peace.
