Ever wonder what the cast of Stranger Things was like before they shot to fame?
Well, now you can, Hawkins fans, as their audition tapes are now online after Netflix and the Duffer brothers decided to have a little fun with the series' young stars Finn Wolfhard (Mike) and Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven).
When the duo appeared on the streaming service's post-binge special, Beyond Stranger Things, to talk about the second season that premiered last week, they were ambushed with footage of their tryouts. Needless to say, their reactions were priceless, as evidenced by the horrified expression on Brown's face.
But the actors soon settled in and enjoyed the look back at how they and costars Noah Schapp (Will), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin), and Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas) all won their parts.
And it's easy to see why.
All of them shine, but most especially Brown, whose tear-streaked audition captured the core emotional arc El faces in the show: who is she and where does she come from.
With kids like these, it's no wonder Stranger Things is such a runaway success.
