One of the best things about Logan was the mind-blowing performance by Dafne Keen as Laura/X-23, but the role could’ve gone to a different — and equally awesome — young actress.

Millie Bobby Brown, the breakout star of Netflix’s Stranger Things, has revealed that she also auditioned for the role of X-23 in Logan. Though she obviously didn’t land the role, Brown said she feels like the audition actually went really well. But after seeing what Keen did with the role, she was as impressed as anyone about the decision director James Mangold ultimately made.

Here’s an excerpt from her comments about pursuing the X-Men role:

“I went for it. It meant so much to me. I was filming Stranger Things, and I was like, ‘This is gonna be amazing, I’m gonna really prepare,’ and I sat in my room reading the lines. And honestly, for me, I felt so – I felt an actor, in the audition room, hitting Hugh Jackman, and James Mangold [with lines] sitting right in front of me.”

Though Brown certainly showed some intensity as Eleven in Stranger Things, it’s hard to imagine anyone but Keen in the role of Laura. But just think — in an alternate reality, Brown stars in both Stranger Things and the X-Men. How crazy is that?
