It looks like we might be waiting a little longer for the next season of Stranger Things.
Speaking to Variety this week, Stranger Things actor and Golden Globe nominee David Harbour revealed that Season 3 may be delayed in light of the show's creators, Matt and Ross Duffer, needing more time to work on the scripts for new episodes.
Although the series was officially confirmed to return to Netflix for a third season shortly after the second season's debut, eager marathon watchers may need to wait a little longer to actually find out what happens to Eleven, Mike, Hopper, and the rest of the gang.
Harbour understands that the Stranger Things fans may be a little irritated by the wait, but as we all know: Genius can't be rushed. "I mean, one of the things that’s annoying for fans is that it takes us a long time to do them. You probably won’t get [Season 3] until sometime in 2019," he said. "But also part of the thing is, like any good thing, they need time. And those guys work so hard. I mean, they just sit in their apartment and write for 12, 14 hours a day."
Stranger Things isn't the only fan-favorite genre series getting pushed back, either. Game of Thrones fans have already had to get used to the fact that the HBO show's final season likely won't be airing until 2019, as well.
So it looks like fans are going to have to play a waiting game of their own between now and then. Oh well, good (and Stranger) things come to those who wait.
