Yesterday, it looked like the State of Michigan had leaked the entire plot for Michael Bay’s mysterious semi-reboot Transformers 4. Now the studio has responded to that intriguing synopsis making the rounds.

Their reply? It’s apparently “inaccurate” and does not correctly represent the film’s plot.

Bay is in talks to shoot some of the film in Detroit, and the MIchigan Film Office was so happy about the arrangement that they put out a statement including what was alleged to be the first synopsis for the project.

The plot, which focused on shady businessmen and scientific experiments, was a little weird for Transformers—but it actually sounded kind of cool. Studio denial or not, the state officials got those details from somewhere, so it’s likely at least some of these ideas will be represented on the big screen once this one eventually opens.

Film studios like to control the flow of information as much as possible, so this may just be a knee-jerk reaction to throw folks off until they’re ready to start peeling back some layers themselves.

Check out the original leaked synopsis below and let us know what you think:

As humanity picks up the pieces, following the conclusion of Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Autobots and Decepticons have all but vanished from the face of the planet. However, a group of powerful, ingenious businessman and scientists attempt to learn from past Transformer incursions and push the boundaries of technology beyond what they can control - all while an ancient, powerful Transformer menace sets Earth in his crosshairs. The epic adventure and battle between good and evil, freedom and enslavement ensues.

So is this synopsis pure fiction, or do you think there are some nuggets of truth here?
