Cartoon Network’s Steven Universe is a magical show that both kids and adults can enjoy. It has a great story, fun characters, and is quite unique in how well it celebrates all kinds of love and all kinds of people. Steven Universe also uses music masterfully in its storytelling.

Throughout its four seasons, Steven Universe has incorporated songs brilliantly into the show as a way to express everything from the challenges faced by the characters to what they’re feeling during that episode. Some are silly and on the short-side, like “Giant Woman” and “Cookie Cat.” Others are more poignant, serious, and a bit longer. All of them are catchy and fun, but while I love the short songs, it’s often the slightly longer ones that I find myself listening to more often.

Songs like “Peace and Love (On the Planet Earth)” and “Something Entirely New” are hard to forget. Many of these songs are unlike anything I’ve heard before in a cartoon and are actually rather profound, including three of my favorites: “Here Comes a Thought,” “Stronger Than You,” and “It’s Over, Isn’t It?” No matter what mood you're in, you can find a Steven Universe song to match it, and sometimes even help you through it.

You can find these and other Steven Universe songs worth listening to on Cartoon Network’s YouTube page. And soon you’ll also be able get your hands on an official soundtrack, (Steven Universe Soundtrack: Volume 1, that’s set for release June 2!
