Closing out the year with a bang, DC Comics is delivering an early Christmas gift to fans with the premiere issue of Justice League vs Suicide Squad #1, a killer new six-issue event mini-series uniting two high-profile superhero squads in the same arena. Written by veteran scribbler and Portland native Joshua Williamson (Birthright, Ghosted), with some stellar art by Jason Fabok (Justice League, Batman Eternal), it marks the first major event series under the newly branded Rebirth rollout. If you've never had the pleasure of seeing Fabok's potent DC pencilwork, you're in for a real treat! Justice League vs Suicide Squad #1 attacks comic shops on Dec. 21.

Here's the official DC solicitation synopsis:

The first major event storyline of DC’s Rebirth era begins with a day Amanda Waller always knew would come: the Justice League discovers the existence of the Suicide Squad! This government-sponsored black-ops team of super-villains with bombs implanted in their brains is obviously a deal-breaker for Earth’s paragons of truth and justice! But you can bet that the Wall and her Task Force X won’t go down without the fight to end all fights as this weekly series gets underway!
