Supergirl will take off with four new cast members when it returns for Season 3 on Monday October 9 at 8 p.m. on The CW. Two new villains, another Martian and a mysterious young woman are being added on, The CW announced at the Supergirl panel at San Diego Comic-Con.

Adrian Pasdar, known to genre fans for his work on HeroesAgents of SHIELD, and as the longtime animated voice of Iron Man, will join teh crew as the villain Morgan Edge. In the pages of DC Comics, this character, created by the great Jack Kirby, was the head of the Intergang mob, and of a group of villains who called themselves the "Superman Revenge Squad." In Supergirl, he'll be a "ruthless real estate developer who will stop at nothing to get what he wants (and what he feels he deserves)."

Carl Lumbly, or Alias, will join the cast as the father of Martian Manhunter (David Harewood), M'yrnn J'onzz. A pacifist and religious Martian, he'll have "unexpected" influences on his son. For Lumbly, this is a return to DC Comics adaptations and to Mars - he voiced Martian Manhunter on Justice League!

Another villain, Psi, joins the cast with Yael Grobglas in the role. Fresh off her previous CW roles on Jane the Virgin and Reign, Grobglas's character, who originated in the Supergirl comics in the 1980s, is a psychic who can "use people's own minds against them." In the comics, she's been at times associated with the Suicide Squad and ARGUS.

Finally Emma Tremblay joins the cast as Ruby, "a smart, independently minded National City kid who's fascinated by Supergirl and ends up in jeopardy because of it." As far as we can tell, this is an all-new character.
