The CW has released the first high-flying footage from the upcoming third season of Supergirl, revealing a first look at Erica Durance as Alura Zor-El and more.

The sneak peek/trailer released at San Diego Comic-Con shows the former Smallville star as Kara Danvers’ Kryptonian mom, as well as Odette Annable (Banshee) as Season 3 villain Reign, and Adrian Pasdar (Heroes, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), who is joining the show as Morgan Edge, “a charming but ruthless real estate developer who has big plans for National City that immediately put him at odds with both Supergirl and Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath).”

New cast members include Yael Grobglas (Jane the Virgin), who will play a psychic supervillain, Psi, with the power to control people's minds, and Carl Lumbly (the voice of the Martian Manhunter in the Justice League animated series) as J'onn J'onnz's (David Harewood) dad, M'yrnn J'onnz. You can read more about it here.

Supergirl will return on October 9. Are you looking forward to the new season?
