Whoa, this is heavy, Doc. SYFY WIRE has an exclusive (and timey-wimey) deleted scene from the upcoming home release of Supergirl Season 5. Going on sale this coming Tuesday, Sep. 8, the DVD and Blu-ray copies of the most recent season include all 19 episodes, as well as The Best of DC TV’s Comic-Con Panels San Diego 2019, a gag reel, and some axed content that never made it to air on The CW.
In our first look at the bonus content, Kara (Melissa Benoist) and Nia (Nicole Maines) discuss time travel and evil doppelgängers. As you'll soon learn, there's a parallel version of Winn Schott (Jeremy Jordan) running around the present, prompting the actual Winn Schott to come back from the future. Yeah, it's enough to make your head spin.
"After five strong seasons, Supergirl remains one of the most talked-about shows on the air," Rosemary Markson, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Senior Vice President, Television Marketing said in a statement. "The loyal fan base will enjoy the special features, in addition to the 19 gripping episodes from the fifth season following new challenges and new characters."
Supergirl: The Complete Fifth Season will be priced at $39.99 for the DVD and $44.98 for the Blu-ray. The latter also comes with a bonus disc featuring all episodes of the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover event and six special features: "Crisis Past and Present: Kevin Conroy Bat Legend," "Crisis on Infinite Earths: The Architects Return," "Crisis Past and Present: Superman vs. Superman," "Characters in Crisis: Pariah," "Crisis Management," and "Character in Crisis: The Anti-Monitor."
Season 5 is currently available to purchase on digital platforms. A sixth season of the series is expected to debut next year, although filming remains a major unknown amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
