With the hotly anticipated debut of the Legion of Super-Heroes on Supergirl this season comes the return of Mon-El (Chris Wood), who (as some of you may already know) was a longstanding member of the Legion in the pages of DC Comics.

Mon-El may be returning to National City in Episode 7 (titled “Wake Up”) fresh off a trip to the 31st century, but that long-awaited reunion with Kara (Melissa Benoist) may not go the way fans hope/think it will. Speaking to Den of Geek, Benoist teased, “It won't be the reunion you expect.” Uh-oh.

What fans of the couple likely want to see is a happy and passionate reunion between the two lovers. But if rumors (so please take the following with a bucket of salt) making the rounds that Mon-El is married to fellow Legion team member Saturn Girl (Amy Jackson) are true, that reunion will definitely be awkward and not what we expect.

“It's pretty mysterious,” Benoist added about the Karamel reunion. “I think this season, we've really delved into a different tone, a different atmosphere for Kara. She's really figuring out how to own her alien-ness, if you will, and in turn I think she's finding her womanhood at the same time through grief and that grief is apparent even in the coloring of the show.”

“Wake Up” will see Winn (Jeremy Jordan) and the DEO investigate that mysterious ship we saw stuck underwater underneath National City at the end of last week’s episode, “The Faithful.” A ship that belongs to the Legion of Super-Heroes.

Benoist also hinted at what fans can look forward to when the Legion of Super-Heroes arrives with Saturn Girl and Brainiac 5 (Jesse Rath) in tow in the 10th episode to help with baddie Reign (Odette Annable). “I don't want to tease too much, but the fact that the Legion is coming to the show has such a hold in the comic book world, especially with Superman, Martian Manhunter, specifically. That's really exciting for us. For Kara, it's a brand-new set of problems that you'll see pretty quickly.”

Could the new set of problems include anything romantic with the Girl of Steel’s comic book love interest Brainiac 5? “We've only just introduced the two of them. What we're working on now. I can't really tease anything. I think my lips have to be sealed on that one.”

Before all of that stuff happens, next week's episode of Supergirl will see the Danvers sisters return home to Midvale following Alex's (Chyler Leigh) breakup with Maggie (Floriana Lima). Here's the extended trailer:
