An iZombie star has been tapped for a (potentially) villainous role on The CW's Supergirl, and the network has released a series of pics for next week's episode, "Exodus."
First things first. Rahul Kohli -- who plays medical examiner Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti on The CW's iZombie -- is set to guest-star in Supergirl Episode 18, titled "Ace Reporter." According to Entertainment Weekly, Kohli will play Jack Spheer, who's described as "a charismatic tech genius who has spent decades working on a medical innovation that will eradicate major illnesses and change the face of the world – if it works."
In the pages of the comics, Jack Spheer was the CEO of a company called Biospheer Technologies who came up with the Biomax Process, a formula meant to redefine how food was produced by controlling organic tissue. Falling into a vat of his own formula, Spheer was mutated into DC villain Biomax and inherited the power of mind control.
The character will arrive in National City to show off his new innovation to the assembled members of the press ... and you can bet your sweet @$s that our new ace reporter, Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist), and her boss, Snapper Carr (Ian Gomez), will be in attendance. Spheer's arrival will not only create front-page news but also possibly rekindle his relationship with his ex, Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath).
Whether Spheer will become Biomax on the show remains to be seen, but I for one can't wait to find out! Here's what the actor told EW:
"I'm so excited to be working on Supergirl starring as Jack Spheer," Kohli says. "It's given me the chance to continue my relationship with The CW as well as fulfill my goal of meeting a Kryptonian."
Now, back to next week's episode (that'd be Episode 15), which has Dean Cain (Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman) continuing his guest-starring turn as Jeremiah Danvers. The CW has released a bunch of new pics, with one of them showing Jeremiah in Alex's (Chyler Leigh) apartment, where father and daughter look to be having a heated discussion.
Hmm … the plot thickens. Especially after the events of this week's episode, which had Jeremiah betraying everyone.
Read up on the episode synopsis for "Exodus" before digging into the gallery below.
As Alex (Chyler Leigh) searches for Jeremiah (guest star Dean Cain) and Kara (Melissa Benoist) investigates a series of alien kidnappings, the sisters realize they must break the rules to foil a new Cadmus plot. In an effort to get Snapper Carr (guest star Ian Gomez) to run a story that would help her stop Cadmus, Kara agrees to set up an interview between Snapper and Supergirl.
Supergirl airs on The CW on Mondays at 8 p.m. Are you excited about Rahul Kohli guest-starring as Jack Spheer, aka Biomax, on the series?
