Say what you will about The CW's superhero shows, but boy do they love some stunt casting. Not that we're complaining.

Variety reports Teri Hatcher, who famously starred as Lois Lane in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, has joined Supergirl to play the Big Bad of Season 2. She's attached for a multi-episode arc and is expected to make her debut this winter.

Hatcher's old co-star Dean Cain is also on Supergirl in a supporting role, and it'll be interesting to see if they can find a way for those two to share a scene at some point. They almost have to make that happen, right?

"No offense to any of the wonderful actresses who have also played the part, but Teri Hatcher is my all-time favorite Lois Lane. To have her come back to the SuperWorld in a completely different part is an unbelievable gift to me, Greg [Berlanti], and the fans," said executive producer Andrew Kreisberg.

So who's she playing? That's where the mystery comes in. The network has remained mum on which DC villain Hatcher will be bringing to life, and the options are pretty much limitless. There are a whole lot of killer ladies scattered around the DC Comics universe.

Place your bets: Who do you think Hatcher will be playing?
