One of the fun perks of attending a major comic convention is the chance to snag some cool, only-at-the-show swag. Attendees at next month’s New York Comic Con will get a shot at some timeless new convention exclusives that are a step above the typical variant covers and T-shirts.
The Invicta Watch Company is debuting a trio of watches at NYCC featuring designs and artwork from superstar artists Amanda Conner, Jim Lee, and Tim Townsend. The Harley Quinn watch features Conner’s definitive take on Harley that helped make her one of the comics industry’s most popular characters. The timepiece that Lee, DC’s publisher/chief creative officer and resident Bat-legend, worked on is appropriately Dark Knight-themed. And Townsend’s watch spotlights Marvel's Amazing Spider-Man.
SYFY WIRE has your exclusive first look at the watches.
Watch collectors know Invicta has put out several geek-themed collections in the past, including DC, Marvel, and Star Wars timepieces. This is the first time the company has produced convention-only exclusives.
These stainless-steel watches will only be available at the con, held from Oct. 4-7, at the Invicta booth (#444) at the Jacob Javits Center. Each timepiece will come inside a limited-edition box, along with an art print featuring work from the artist behind that watch. Conner and Townsend created artwork designed specifically for the watches, while Invicta used pre-existing Lee art for the Bat-watch. The company collaborated with each artist on the design to ensure each watch captured the essence of the character.
The watches will debut at NYCC with special show-only prices. The Harley watch will sell for $175, the Batman watch will be priced at $250, and the Spider-Man timepiece will sell for $450. You’ll be able to meet Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti and Tim Townsend at the Invicta booth during the con. Click here to find out the signing schedule.
