Warner Bros. Animation and  DC Entertainment''s Justice League: Gods and Monsters gets released to the planet today, and we've got three final clips to share before the animated mayhem begins.   Bruce Timm (Batman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond) executive-produced this latest Justice League tale from an original screenplay he wrote with co-producer Alan Burnett (Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, The Batman), set in a grim future lorded over by the very unfamiliar trio of Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman.

In these tense previews, Superman considers the consequences of saving or ruling the world after the U.S. military surrounds their headquarters with attack helicopters and demands immediate surrender, while Batman mourns the death of Victor Fries and Wonder Woman spars with Steve Trevor.

Here's the official synopsis with the new clips to follow and fresh images in our gallery below:

Journey to a divergent reality where the Justice League protects the planet - but answers to no one but themselves. Employing methods of intimidation and fear, this Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman deal brute force in the name of justice. In this alternate universe, Superman was not raised by the Kents in Smallville, the Caped Crusader is not Bruce Wayne, and Wonder Woman is not an Amazon warrior of Themyscira. When a group of famed scientists experience untimely "accidents," a government task force follows the trail of clues to the Justice League. But is there a more powerful player operating from the shadows? It's a high stakes game of intrigue, mystery and action that asks the question: How do you serve justice to those above the law?

Directed by Sam Liu (Batman: Year One, All-Star Superman), Justice League: Gods and Monsters hits Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD on July 28, 2015.  Is it on your shopping list?
