Marvel and Netflix have unleashed the first trailer for their upcoming Luke Cage series during tonight’s panel at San Diego Comic-Con. They’ve also released the first teaser for The Defenders: “You think the four of you can save New York? You can’t even save yourselves.” -- Stick

Luke Cage stars Mike Colter in the role of the titular hero with super strength and unbreakable skin. In the video below, we see the Hero for Hire making mincemeat of the bad guys, accompanied to Ol' Dirty Bastard's “Shimmy Shimmy Ya.” Here’s the official synopsis:

After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But he is soon pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city–forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.

The series set to premiere on Sept. 30 will also star Simone Missick as Misty Knight, Frank Whaley as Rafael Scarfe, Mahershala Ali as Cottonmouth, Theo Rossi as Shades, Alfre Woodard as Mariah Dillard and Erik LaRay Harvey as Diamondback, and Rosario Dawson will be back as Claire Temple.

As for The Defenders, the Marvel superhero team-up series will bring together Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist and is slated for 2017.
