A new extended trailer for Syfy’s upcoming EPIC space opera series The Expanse has been released, right on time for San Diego Comic-Con.

The upcoming sci-fi series stars Thomas Jane (The Punisher, Hung) in the role of hardboiled Detective Miller and Steven Strait (Magic City) in the role of Han Solo Holden. The story takes place roughly 200 years in the future -- when mankind has colonized the solar system this side of the galaxy -- and what first appears to be the case of a missing young woman quickly becomes a race to expose a huge conspiracy against humanity. If the fact that Thomas Jane is starring in the series isn't enough to whet your appetite, know that Shohreh Aghdashloo (Grimm) and The Walking Dead’s Chad L. Coleman are also in it.

Syfy's [Syfy is Blastr’s corporate parent] eagerly anticipated 10-episode TV series is based on James S.A. Corey's bestselling book series The Expanse. Fun fact: James S.A. Corey is actually the pen name of writers Ty Franck and Daniel Abraham, and you can check out Blastr’s exclusive interview with the dynamic writing duo to know more about the series set to air this December.
