As part of the marketing campaign for the upcoming miniseries Childhood’s End, Syfy is kicking off a social media push with an ambitious charity hook.

The series itself, based on Arthur C. Clarke’s seminal sci-fi novel, follows the peaceful alien invasion of Earth by the mysterious “Overlords,” whose arrival begins decades of apparent utopia under indirect alien rule. It delves into what exactly we give up for all this perfection, which is a fascinating question.

Along those lines, Syfy (Corporate owner of Blastr -Ed) is inviting fans to tweet them their version of utopia, using the hashtag #ThankYouKarellen. For every tweet they receive Syfy will donate $1 to each of three partner charities that each encompass one of the show’s themes. Charities include the Salvation Army, Project Hope and Peace First.

So what does utopia look like to you?
