Syfy is heading to Krypton and getting Happy! — and planning some Nightflyers, to boot.

The network has officially picked up the DC Comics series Krypton, as well as the comic-based cop series Happy!, to series. Syfy is also developing the sci-fi thriller Nightflyers, based on George R.R. Martin’s novel of the same name. Both Krypton and Happy! have been in development for a while, and now both have earned a spot on the schedule. Nightflyers is new, but George R.R. Martin has never been hotter, and the material seems a good fit. So we’d expect to hear more about that one down the line.

Here’s a full rundown of each project:

Krypton: Set two generations before Superman ever heads to Earth, Krypton follows Kal-El’s grandfather (played by Cameron Cuffe) — whose House of El was ostracized and shamed — as he fights to redeem his family’s honor and save his beloved world from chaos. The series comes from producers David Goyer (the Dark Knight trilogy) and Damian Kindler (Sleepy Hollow). Along with Cuffe, the show stars Georgina Campbell (Broadchurch), Elliot Cowan (Da Vinci’s Demons), Ann Ogbomo (World War Z), Rasmus Hardiker (Your Highness), Wallis Day (Will), Aaron Pierre (Tennison) and Ian McElhinney (Game of Thrones).

Happy!: This series is based on Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson’s graphic novel of the same name. The series follows Nick Sax (played by Christopher Meloni) – an intoxicated, corrupt ex-cop turned hit man – who is adrift in a world of casual murder, soulless sex and betrayal. After a hit gone wrong, his inebriated life is forever changed by a tiny, relentlessly positive, imaginary blue winged horse named “Happy” (played by SNL alum Bobby Moynihan). The series is produced by Morrison, and Brian Taylor (Crank) co-wrote the pilot. Neal Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Toby Jaffe and Patrick Macmanus will executive-produce.

Nightflyers: This project is currently in development and is based on George R.R. Martin’s supernatural thriller of the same name. The story is set in the future on the eve of Earth’s destruction, as a crew of explorers journey on the most advanced ship in the galaxy, The Nightflyer, to intercept a mysterious alien spacecraft that might hold the key to their survival. As the crew near their destination, they discover that the ship’s artificial intelligence and never-seen captain may be steering them into deadly and unspeakable horrors deep in the dark reaches of space. The series is being developed by producers Gene Klein (Suits), David Bartis (Mr. and Mrs. Smith) and Doug Liman (Suits).

Krypton and Happy! join a 2017-2018 line-up that includes The Expanse, The Magicians, Killjoys, Channel Zero and 12 Monkeys. Nightflyers is part of an expanded development slate at Syfy, which includes projects based on Brave New World, Dan Simmons’ novel Hyperion and Stranger in a Strange Land, based on Robert Heinlein’s novel of the same name.
