Syfy’s The Magicians has worked its magic to land a third season.

There are just two episodes left in the second season of the Syfy original series, but the network has gone ahead and pulled the trigger on a 13-episode third season. Based on Lev Grossman’s best-selling series of novels, the show follows a group of young adults as they try to survive the magical college of Brakebills and navigate the dark, magical land of Fillory. The mythology has gotten a whole lot deeper in Season 2, and if you haven't been watching, it's a dark fantasy unlike just about anything else at the moment.

The network notes the show has seen its ratings trend up in Year 2, up year over year across all key demos (P18-49 +15%, P18-34 +23%, P25-54 +9% and +6% among P2+), nearly doubling its freshman season in social engagements. The series airs Wednesday nights on Syfy, and the penultimate episode of Season 2 airs tonight.

The series stars Jason Ralph, Stella Maeve, Olivia Taylor Dudley, Hale Appleman, Arjun Gupta, Summer Bishil, Rick Worthy and Jade Tailor.

Season 3 of The Magicians will air in 2018 on Syfy.
