The third season of Syfy’s 12 Monkeys is currently in production, and now the series has added a few familiar faces to the mix in supporting roles.

Nerdist reports that genre mainstays Hannah Waddingham (Game of Thrones) and Faran Tahir (Once Upon a Time, Star Trek, Iron Man) have officially joined the series. Waddingham will be playing the new character Magdalena, a “ruthless and expedient” member of a cult tasked with protecting the Witness. Tahir will be playing Mallick, a “devout enforcer of the Army of the 12 Monkeys” who lives in Titan (aka the Witness’ city-sized time machine). The duo will join sci-fi legends Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future) and James Callis (Battlestar Galactica), who will also have supporting roles in Season 3.

The second season of 12 Monkeys ended with a few great cliffhangers, as Cole looks to visit the far future in his search for Cassie. Most of these casting nods seem to play into that storyline, but don’t forget Jennifer Goines is also lost in the past. Yeah, cliffhangers galore on this show. The casting also seems to indicate the third season will definitely be paying off on the story of the Witness — a mystery that’s been hanging over the show since its premiere.

Season 3 of 12 Monkeys debuts on Syfy (Corporate owner of Blastr -Ed.) in 2017.
