Arthur C. Clarke's masterful sci-fi invasion novel gets a respectful adaptation in Syfy's Childhood's End mini-series airing in December.  Syfy (Disclosure: Parent company of Blastr) hopes to remain true to the spirit and style of the revered book with this ambitious undertaking by focusing on the novel's unnerving emotional element.  Clarke's somber 1953 classic chronicles the benign occupation of Earth by seemingly benevolent alien beings callled the Overlords and the devastating toll it takes on humanity as it unravels the mysterious extraterrestrials' true intentions.

To prime you for the six-hour, three-night experience starting on Dec. 14, 2015, Syfy has released an in-depth featurette showcasing Childhood's End's stars Charles Dance, Charlotte Nicdao, Osy Ikhile, Yael Stone, Julian McMahon and Haley Magnus as they offer up their observations and ideas on the show's unsettling utopian themes and the slow downfall of human identity orchestrated by the Overlords.  Have a look:

Syfy's special three-night event for its Childhood's End starts on Dec. 14, 2015.  Are you a fan of Clarke's sobering look at an alien entity meddling with society, and will you tune in when the invasion begins?
