All is well that ends well… in the future. TV Line exclusively reports that SYFY is retiring the Sharknado franchise, and taking one last bite with a sixth and final film that will add a time-traveling storyline to the mix, just for the hell of it.

Well, actually it makes a lot of sense. In the last movie, Sharknado 5: Global Swarming, Fin (played by Ian Ziering) was the last man standing as he was seen walking the earth alone after it had been destroyed by Shark-infused chaos.

Now the action is set to pick up with Fin sending himself back in time to stop the original Sharknado – and hopefully tying up all the loose ends for fans. The report also adds that joining Ziering in Sharknado 6 will be original franchise stars Tara Reid, Cassie Scerbo, and Vivica A. Fox.

We’re going to be sad to see this outrageous series go. Love them or hate them, the movies have always been a great source of cheesy entertainment for genre fans. We’d need all the day to think of our favorite moment from the franchise, but Sharknado the 4th Awakens definitely stands out. Who could forget when Nova (Scerbo) had the unfortunate luck of falling out of a helicopter while fighting a shark, only to land into the mouth of a different shark? Oh, twist of cruel fate. We miss you already.

Will you miss the Sharknado movies, or do you think the franchise has, er, jumped the shark? Let us know your favorite moments in the comment section below.
