Imagine having Taika Waititi make a movie and then taking out the funny moments.

That's almost what happened with Thor: Ragnarok.

Speaking to CBR, Waititi explained that his initial cut had "a funny first 10 minutes and then a super-boring rest of the movie." and that he worked to strike a balance throughout the film and ended up adding roughly 30 minutes of funny scenes back into the film.

From the sound of it, Waititi may have thought he had to be more serious because of past films or expectations related to the Marvel Studios brand, but somewhere in the cutting room he found a way to bring his brand of humor to the film and create something that critics are already raving about. Marvel rolled the dice on this one, and looks to have come out a winner.

It makes us wonder if he cut any of his scenes out and, in that case, we're really glad they made the final cut. You can never have too much Taika.

Waititi's also said he has some ideas for a Black Widow movie. Color us interested.
