The Clash of the Titans remake from 2010 was something of a surprise, both in terms of how much it grossed (a lot) and how crappy its 3-D was (a whole lot). But a sequel was bound to happen, so here's our first look at Sam Worthington, reprising his role as petulant hero, Perseus, in Wrath of the Titans.
Similar to Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, Entertainment Weekly gives us our first look at Warner Bros.' sequel to Clash, which pulled in over $493 million worldwide, and this time the gods are mad as hell and they're not going to take it anymore. Zeus has been kidnapped by Hades, and Perseus has to travel to the underworld to save his dear old dad.
How will Perseus defeat Hades on his own turf? Well, according to director Jonathan Liebesman (Battle: Los Angeles), the hero will have plenty of weapons to aid his fight. In the featured photo, Perseus is carrying the celestial trident, which is just one of many tools he'll need "in order to create an uber-weapon," according to Liebesman. An uber-weapon? Is this Power Rangers?
It looks like Perseus has been given a little makeover. He's sporting extra armor and a shaggy new mane. Hopefully his look isn't the only thing that's improved since the original.
Wrath of the Titans hits theaters March 30.
