Good news, zombie fans!

Fear the Walking Dead has been renewed by AMC for a fifth season, the network confirmed at the 2018 Television Critics Association press tour. This is thanks to the fact that The Walking Dead spinoff series is doing incredibly well with its fourth season, currently the number three cable series on TV.

AMC also credited the show's success to Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg, who took over as showrunners for Dave Erickson this past spring. Moreover, the crossover of Lennie James' Morgan Jones from The Walking Dead went over extremely well with fans.

"There would be no point to the crossover if it was just a gimmick. It has to broaden the story," James said at this year's San Diego Comic-Con.

The second half of Season 4 returns August 12 with its ninth episode, "People Like Us."
