Project Blue Book, HISTORY's freshman series from Academy Award and Golden Globe® winning executive producer Robert Zemeckis, was awarded a second season pick-up of 10 episodes today at the network's panel at the TCA 2019 winter tour. The series, starring Aidan Gillen as Dr. J. Allen Hynek and Michael Malarkey as Captain Michael Quinn, follows the investigators in the clandestine Air Force unit, "Project Blue Book."

Since its premiere in early January, the series has averaged 3.4 million viewers in Live+3 delivery every week making it a network hit on par with its other most successful scripted original series, Vikings

And SYFY WIRE is home to the official Project Blue Book podcast for the series featuring the creatives and cast discussing every episode. Listen to last week's episode, "Foo Fighters," featuring Gillen and Malarkey.

HISTORY also announced that the second season of their other scripted series, Knightfall, which adds Mark Hamill to the cast, will return Monday, March 25 at 10PM ET/PT.

The eight-episode sophomore season's narrative continues to chart the demise of the Templar Order, adding Hamill as Talus, a battle-hardened Knight Templar veteran and initiate master. The TCA panel also revealed the first extended footage of the season with Hamill looking more than a little grizzled in his new role.

Project Blue Book Season 1 continues to air Tuesday nights on HISTORY at 10PM ET/PT.
