Time to dust off that giant robot suit of yours and watch the first teaser trailer for the upcoming Mobile Suit Gundam NT (Narrative) film from Sunrise.

Despite the movie opening in Japan first this fall, you can enjoy the 30-seconds of eye candy in the teaser. The mechas are spectacular as always, but the designs of the humans who pilot them are just as impressive. This animation, even if made on a computer, looks totally old school, bringing us back to the TV series of the late 1970s and early '80s.

According to the official synopsis provided by the Gundam YouTube page, the movie takes place one year after "Laplace's Box" was opened. What became known as the "Laplace Incident" saw "two full psycho-frame mobile suits [display] power beyond human understanding." As a result, the white unicorn and black lion were sealed away from humanity, where they were meant to be forgotten forever.

"However, the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 03, which disappeared two years earlier, is now about to show itself in the Earth Sphere once more. A golden phoenix... named Phenex."

Written by and Harutoshi Fukui directed by Shunichi Yoshizawa, Mobile Suit Gundam NT (Narrative) opens in Japan on Nov. 30. There is currently no announcement for when the feature will make it to the States.
