Everything you thought you knew about MTV's Teen Wolf is about to change, said creator and executive producer Jeff Davis in an exclusive interview with Blastr. And he's going to let you in on a few spoilers to whet your appetite for the teen supernatural show's shocking season 3B premiere, which airs tonight at 10 p.m. ET on MTV.

The midseason finale “left the door open for a lot of new mysteries to evolve in our town of Beacon Hills. What you're going to see is the repercussions of what our three main characters, Scott, Allison and Stiles, have done,” said Davis.

What werewolf Scott and his two human pals did was perform a dangerous ritual to save their parents from being sacrificed, which left them in a precarious situation as the season continues with the remaining 12 episodes.

But it's only going to be the beginning of their problems. Here are seven important things (aka SPOILERS!) Jeff Davis wanted you to know about the second half of season 3:

There will be a time jump

“It's only about three weeks, so that allowed us to do a Halloween episode, actually,” said Davis. “And it's not the typical Halloween episode where it's people dressed up in costumes. We're going to do a blacklight party. Terrible things happen at our party, yes. But it also allows you to get some romance in as well.”

“You have some surprises in store. I actually think it's one of the best openings we've done. We're all really proud of it,” he said.

Get ready for “the dark half”

Scott, Allison and Stiles all “died” briefly in the ritual sacrifice to save the parents. When the season returns, “Scott, Stiles, and Allison, we meet them sort of picking up the pieces of their life and trying to get back to being normal teenagers, but finding that they're in a sort of post-traumatic-stress-disorder state. Each of them. So it's going to be a little bit difficult to get back to normal,” said Davis.

In fact, you can pretty much count normal out entirely. “There must be consequences. How are they dealing with it? The theme of this season is all about the dark side of our characters, the dark half. It's Scott's fear of whether he'll become a good Alpha or a monstrous Alpha like Peter became, Allison's fear that she may fall down the path of her aunt, Kate, and become a hunter like her, and Stiles' fear that there's a kind of darkness inside him as well,” he said.

“We've pitched this season to the network as more of a psychological thriller. We do still have plenty of action, but we're really getting into the heads of our characters this season,” said Davis.

In fact, one major head trip will involve Kate Argent, who was killed in season one. Apparently death can't keep a good character down. Kate, who is played by Jill Wagner, will be returning this season.

The mythology will expand

This part of the story will explore Japanese mythology and the myth of the Kitsune, or “the fox spirit, the trickster spirit. It's kind of a were-fox. So we're going to be delving into some Japanese culture quite a bit,” said Davis. “It plays perfectly into our shapeshifter myth. We say that we never want to do vampires or zombies, and we want to stay within the world of shapeshifters, so there's plenty there,” said Davis.

Joining the cast as a recurring character is Arden Cho, who plays Kira. She's “heavily involved in the Kitsune myth. She's a new Asian student that enters the picture. Her parents, played by Tom Choi and Tamlyn Tomita, who are also phenomenal. Tamlyn was recently on True Blood, and she was actually the girlfriend of Ralph Macchio in Karate Kid 2.”

Stiles' dad will get the real 411 on Beacon Hills

“Our first episode actually, 3.13, delves into the question of whether Stilinski can accept the supernatural world in the face of his world, which is of facts and clues,” said Davis.

“So what he starts doing is he starts looking back on all of his old cases. We call it our 'cold case' episode of Teen Wolf. He starts looking back on the old cases and wondering, was this supernatural or was it just a killer? Or could this have been something more, and did I make a mistake? So it creates a big problem for him, which kind of kicks off our season,” he said.

Part of the problem will come from Scott's formerly absentee father. “He doesn't have the best intentions for the town of Beacon Hills or for Sheriff Stilinski, actually. There's going to be a little federal and police rivalry going on,” he said.

“We built a sheriff's station on our sets, on our stage, so we're going to be delving more into the police side of things as Stilinski becomes involved in the world of the supernatural.”

Scott's life will not get easier now that he's a True Alpha

Scott, Stiles and Allison are “going to be broken apart a little bit. They're going to be trying to find out who is part of the pack. There are going to be some fractured allegiances, I would say. Part of the beginning of this part of the season is Scott now realizing, knowing he's an Alpha, but finding himself dealing with still being a teenager in high school, and how does that affect his life in terms of romance? He's not quite an Alpha in romance yet.”

And, in fact, Davis told us you'll just have to wait and see whether Scott and Allison's romance will continue at all.

However, there are hints we might see Allison with someone else this season (see the sneak peek below), and we might see some romance courtesy of the Alpha twins, Aiden and Ethan, played by Charlie and Max Carver, who are back this season.

There is going to be a cliffhanger at the end of the season

Teen Wolf has been renewed for a fourth season with 12 episodes. “Now that we know we have another batch of episodes for season four, there are going to be some big cliffhangers at the end of this season, at the end of 3B, our winter season. So it'll leave hopefully mouths on the floor,” said Davis.

“This season is going to be a big game-changer for us, because not everyone is going to make it out alive. We're changing things up, yeah. You may be seeing a different season four,” he said. “There's nothing quite like a big death.”

The show's first guests include Tyler Posey, who plays Scott, and Dylan O'Brien, who plays Stiles.

“It's going to be interviews with cast members. I think it's going to be great. People love to talk about this show. I love to talk about it because I'll take any opportunity to plug the show I can get,” said Davis. “I think it's a great opportunity for this show to both broaden its audience and deepen the interaction with our audience, who are such huge fans. They're just superfans of the show,” said Davis.
