A 15-year-old girl has got herself in hot water with the police in Marathon, Florida, after she falsely said she had been attacked while jogging, and the perpetrator had bruised and bitten her on her neck, arms and back. Of course, truth is much stranger than fiction.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office:

The girl's story began to unravel when Deputy O'Keefe asked her what shoes she was wearing at the time of the attack. She showed him a pair, but no footprints matching the shoes were found at the place she said she was attacked.

In actuality, the girl and a 19-year-old had been engaged in Twilight-inspired "fantasy biting behavior." The unnamed teen made the claim because she was "concerned about her mother seeing the injuries" and was presumably trying to avoid punishment.

When police followed-up with the 19-year-old, he had more extensive bite marks and wounds on his body. These were given to him by his fiancé, also a Twilight fan.

The 15-year-old was charged with making a false report.

There is no word on whether or not the 19-year-old man is in trouble with the police: the girl is 15, younger than the age of consent (which in Florida is 16 if the partner is 23 or younger). However, the 15-year-old and 19-year-old only engaged in vampire foreplay and did not have legally defined sexual relations.

There is also no word on whether the man is in trouble with his fiancé.
