Telltale Games has earned plenty of acclaim and a pretty massive fanbase in recent years thanks to its focus on serialized, narrative-focused videogames adapted from The Walking Dead and Fables. The developer's upcoming Game of Thrones adaptation is one of the most eagerly awaited games out there, and though we still don't know just when we'll get to play it, we do finally have the first trailer, as well as a look at some of the major new characters who will drive the story.

Game of Thrones will focus on the Forrester family, an obscure house in the North of Westeros that's been loyal to House Stark for generations. Since the game begins sometime around the end of season three of the Thrones TV series, it's not a very good time to be a Stark ally in Westeros, and the Forrester family must do everything they can to preserve their house in the face of Lannister wrath. The trailer, narrated by Game of Thrones star Lena Headey, emphasizes that the Forresters are in a very precarious position indeed, and also gives us looks at the video game incarnations of Cersei Lannister, Tyrion Lannister, Margaery Tyrell, and Ramsay Snow. Check it out:

To accompany the trailer's release, Telltale also revealed the names, looks, and backgrounds of 13 new characters, all Forrester family members and allies. The game will feature five playable characters, all tied to House Forrester and all scattered around Westeros. Each decision made by the player will not only affect the character they're playing at the time, but every other playable character as well, providing a very unpredictable, choice-based gameplay experience. We've gathered all of the new character reveals in the gallery below, so check them out.

The first episode of Telltale's Game of Thrones, titled "Iron From Ice," is listed as "coming soon."
