The premiere of SYFY's Krypton grows ever closer, and to ramp up your excitement for this Superman prequel starring the House of El, we have an entire exploding planet's worth of images from the new show.

Primarily dealing with Kal-El's grandfather, Seg-El (played by Cameron Cuffe), the show will deal with the House of El's troubles in Kryptonian politics, as well as the time-traveling interloper Adam Strange (played by Dark Matter's Shaun Sipos). Strange is visiting to let Seg-El know that the fate of the universe hinges on his actions, and that yes, the planet must die— but not before Kal-El (aka Superman) is born to fight for truth, justice, and all that stuff.

They are definitely leaning heavily into Superman iconography in these photos, as the classic red cape is very prevalent. For example, here's a shot of Seg-El brooding over the cape, perhaps contemplating having the burden of his house (and planet) being thrust upon his shoulders:

Thankfully for Seg-El, he will not only have the counsel of Strange, but also of his grandfather, Val-El. Played by Ian McElhinney (Ser Barristan Selmy from Game of Thrones), he looks ready to impart some serious wisdom and guidance:

Val-El gets in on the cape game, as well, and he can be seen here with Seg-El in front of what looks like the cape's place of honor, complete with the iconic crest of their house above where the cape nobly hangs:

Let's not forget Strange, who has crossed time and space to get to Krypton, and may end up being the man responsible for Superman being born in the first place. Here's a new shot of Strange refusing to let Seg-El hog all of the brooding:

Fly through our gallery of photos below, which includes more shots of Seg-El and Strange, as well as Seg-El's love interest Lyta-Zod (Georgina Campbell) and lawmaker Nyssa-Vex (Wallis Day). And don't forget that Krypton is set to explode on March 21 on SYFY!
