Obviously, the biggest sporting event of the year would feature a commercial for the biggest blockbuster of the year. The Super Bowl fulfilled this prophecy by airing a brand-new ad for Marvel Studios' Avengers: Infinity War. "So this is it," says Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark. "It's all been leading to this." By "this," he means 10 years and 18 movies. He also probably means the murderous and purple-skinned villain Thanos (Josh Brolin), who wants to bring the entire universe under his control via all six Infinity Stones.
"An entire universe. Once and for all," goes the trailer, which features Iron Man (Downey), Spider-Man (Tom Holland), Vision (Paul Bettany), Scarlet Witch (Elisabeth Olsen), Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), the Guardians of the Galaxy (Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, and Bradley Cooper, and Pom Klementieff), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Loki (Tom Hiddleston), Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Nebula (Karen Gillan), The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), Iron Patriot (Don Cheadle), and, of course, the Mad Titan himself.
Plus, there's a bigger Groot, Cap's new shield, Thor driving with Rocket, and a ton more details to unpack from this 30-second spot alone. How many easter eggs do you think you can find?
Avengers Infinity War will most likely blow your mind on May 4 as every single hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe comes together to prevent the Infinity Stones from falling into the wrong hands.
